Simple New Year Goals for a Young Man in 20s or 30s in 2024

As a young man, you can either take life as it comes or you can set a few goals this 2024. If you ever want your goals to come to life, just write them down. Something great happens when you put pen on paper, it is a sign of commitment. That’s why we sign important documents. These are a few simple New Year goals you can follow through as a young man.

  • Join a gym, let’s say two times a week, or practice calisthenics
  • Learn chess or any board game
  • Read a life-changing book on finance or psychology (Denial of Death or The Millionaire Next Door)
  • Cut out a vice (gossiping, greed, dishonesty or selfishness, etc.)
  • Cut off a negative person in your life (whether a friend or a relative)
  • Spend more quality time with your kids if you have them
  • Get a quality girlfriend if you need one
  • Travel more to new places
  • Listen to a new genre of music (death metal or Jazz or Classic music)
  • Save an extra $300 each month
  • Get a full medical check-up (get a flu shot, visit a dentist or screen for STDs)
  • Eat more vegetables and fruits (reduce red meats and empty calories in your diet)
  • Remove soft drinks from your fridge
  • Reduce alcohol consumption (2 drinks a week maximum)
  • Learn to shoot (firearms, not other stuff)
  • Make a bit more paper than last year (you can’t save what you don’t have)
  • Join a new club (rotary or a hiking group)
  • Upgrade your wardrobe (buy new shoes, tees, bedsheets or pillows)
  • Learn how to text gals or write good emails
  • Get closer to God or your parents
  • Try a foreign cuisine (Nigerian egusi soup or Italian pasta or calamari or ice wine) it doesn’t have to be something complicated.
  • Start an online business (be a seller this year not a buyer)
  • Make a friend from a foreign culture (African, Scandinavian, Asian Spanish or white)
  • Make a friend from a different background, if you are a white-collar guy, make a friend in the blue-collar sector, if you are a middle class, make a friend in the upper middle class
  • Mediate regularly as a young man
  • Pay your debts
  • Buy artwork
  • Buy a Rolex if you are rich (it appreciates in value just like a body of art)

Well, that’s enough to get you started. Goals don’t have to be scary, people who drop their goals by the third month usually set out to achieve difficult goals. If you want to shed off some extra pounds and stay slim like many people do, it will be better if come at it slowly, start with working out at least once a week, and cut off a few things from your diet. If you achieve that, you can increase your workout and increase your intake of healthy food with time.

If you want to read more books, start by reading chapters or just two pages in a day and you will get there slowly.

I wish you the very best for this year.
